Castello di Radda was established by the Gussalli Beretta family in 2003. Radda in Chianti is one of the coldest municipalities in the Chianti Classico region, characterised by a continental climate with significant temperature fluctuations that favour the production of elegant and outstanding wines.
Production zone CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG
The production zone covers a total of 71,800 hectares , of which 10,000 are planted with vines and 7,000 are suitable for producing Chianti Classico DOCG. The total production is around 35 million bottles, with around 500 wineries located in the area between Siena and Florence.
The soils in this area are made up of sandstone (which gives the bouquet its elegance) and alberese (which provides structure, body and tannins) and are moderately calcareous/clayey: the perfect conditions for growing Sangiovese grapes of the highest quality.
The Castello di Radda vineyards are located in the municipalities of Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti (Vertine).
